Family Archive Pics
This set of pages, and collection of articles, photographs and such are from those dusty old boxes that get opened after a loved one passes. We need to preserve our memories and out heritage and share it somewhere. An old dusty box that sits, possibly in a flooded basement getting moldy, or worse yet, perishes in a house fire,
are memories lost. I have them saved to hard drive (with paranoid backup levels, as you've probably gleaned from reading other pages on this site), but... that is still, in my humble opinion, a dusty box that never gets opened. Hopefully, by having them here on this site, more than me gets to see them. And perhaps, more often than once ina a blue moon when I dig out the dusty old hard drive to look for something and stumble across these memories.
In our modern world, we sometimes forget that not too long ago, some of our relatives were part of a major piece of history. Many of us saw the 9/11 disaster, and through the magic (or horror) of the internet, those images will be captured 'forever'. These days, virtually every captured moment is captured to "the Cloud". not so long ago, there was no internet <-- yes, you read correctly, the internet has not been around forever. Hopefully, these will be here, and this website host will be around for some time to come and if not, i will just find somewhere else to post this stuff.

Royal
These images are from a collection left by my grandmother Nora Royal. The reading is amazing and the photos illustrate life in the 30's, 40's and 50's. Enjoy!

Below are various newspaper clippings for which I cannot determine a specific date. Looking at some of them, it's clear that they are from the beginning or start, but nothing specific. We need to keep in mind that the only "media" that was available was newspapers and radio. Today, the reporting would be very much different.

I do hope that people will read it and understand the contribution of the Royal Rifles of Canada over the history of the two World Wars and as such, am hoping that anyone who claims copyright on this work will pardon my error :-)
